Academy generating major interest in Indian Country at 66th Annual NCAI Convention

October 14, 2009

Palm Springs, CA – building on its successful national debut yesterday, the Academy of Tribal & Local Government continues to generate significant interest and buzz throughout Indian Country at the 66th Annual NCAI Convention & Trade Show in Palm Springs.

In only two days the Academy has received more than 300 inquiries from tribes and organizations across the nation about its ground-breaking training programs.

Meanwhile, Co-Founder and CEO Deron Marquez was interviewed by local and national media throughout the day about the Academy’s exciting, innovative and customized curriculum.

“I must say we are thrilled by the response from tribal nations and other organizations thus far,” stated Mr. Marquez. “There is tremendous interest in what we are offering. Many have even approached us with new and intriguing ideas to address even more issues unique to Indian Country.”

The Academy was founded and designed to address specific matters facing tribal nations and to provide workable solutions to those issues. Its fully-tailored programs offer expertise to tribal governments nationwide on important matters ranging from economic development, Indian law, and effective tribal leadership to intergovernmental and employee relations, and much more.

Many members of the Academy’s nationally-known faculty are Native American and have a deeply personal understanding of Indian Country today.

In fact, with more than 200 years of Indian Country experience, the Academy’s faculty has grown nearly daily; academic and industry experts from across the country have expressed interest in becoming part of this exciting and unique institute.

The Academy of Tribal & Local Government is located at Booth #418 at the NCAI Convention and Trade Show exhibitor hall in the Palm Springs Convention Center through Thursday. Academy staff and select faculty will be available to discuss the exciting things the Academy is doing for Indian Country.
